MEET REX...

This is our Robotic Dispensing System. (A Parata MAX) We  call him "REX". REX was named by our customers in our 'Name our Robot' contest. Four customers tied for first place.

How REX works...

The pharmacist enters the prescription information on his computer. (this is when he/she checks the history of the patient to be sure there are no other meds that react with the new prescription. The information is sent to our pharmacy tech's computer which sends it to REX. The robot counts the pills, puts them in a bottle and screws on the top. The label is printed and put on the bottle.

REX  puts the pill bottle in a bin that has the customers last initial on it. The pharmacy tech checks it and put gives it to the pharmacist. The pharmacist double checks it. It is now ready for the customer.
